Your favourite band are back! Six years after their last studio album ‘Rize Of The Fenix' Jack Black and Kyle Gass make their comeback in autumn 2018 with TWO new projects. Both have the title ‘Post-Apocalypto’ and are extraordinary as expected. Here’s all you need to know:

‘Post-Apocalypto - The Series’ is a six-part animation series conceived and produced by Tenacious D. Every single frame of every episode was personally drawn by Jack, and the voices of the characters are those of Jack and Gass. A new episode of ‘Post-Apocalypto’ is ready for you every Friday from 28 September on the Tenacious D YouTube channel. All six episodes feature the duo’s new songs that all together result in a new Tenacious D album, which will be released on 2 November with the title ‘Post-Apocalypto’. Along with each episode, you can also find a new song every week in all download shops. The upcoming album was produced by Emmy-winner John Spiker (Beck, Pete Yorn, etc.), and Dave Grohl sat at the drums as usual. ‘Post-Apocalypto - The Album’ is another brilliant new entry in an already unrivalled catalogue of awesomeness that Tenacious D have been putting together since their inception in 1994.

As the title promises, in ‘Post-Apocalypto’, Tenacious D lead the listener through a world completely devastated by the explosion of an atomic bomb. Jack and Kyle survive the attack in classic movie style (in an indestructible 50s fridge of course) and, much to their chagrin, they find out that the detonation has created new forms of evil. Something soon becomes clear to both of them: to protect humanity from its ultimate downfall, Tenacious D have to save the world. The story proceeds with some unexpected twists and turns, among them a loopy visit to the White House, a time machine, a space adventure and some long-known daddy issues. ‘Post-Apocalypto’ is just as witty, political, brilliant, eclectic and multifaceted as its unbelievable creators. And the songs are also pretty darn good. Fans can already get a glimpse of the series on the band’s newly created Instagram page.
