The in total 3 phases from February 2008 up to the beginning of April 2009 of the "Somewhere Back In Time World Tour" of Heavy Metal-legend Iron Maiden might be history already, but count as the most highbrow, most adventurous and most unique concert trip of the Rock band to date.
For example the first phase from February and March 2008: Iron Maiden travelled 80.000 kilometres in 45 days, did 23 concerts in stadium and arena venues in Asia, Australia, and North-, Central. and South America. This absolute mammoth-programme could only be done because Iron Maiden owns their own airplane. A modified Boeing 757 - the "Ed Force One", to transport for example 12 tons of stage equipment !With singer Bruce Dickinson himself on the control stick!! The man is a trained pilot, flies traffic machines, is a qualifies and active aircraft captain with the in England resident "Astraeus Airlines" next to his time in Iron Maiden.
