Hollywood Vampires were born in a club bar named „Rainbow Bar & Grill“ on the Sunset Strip in 1972. It was a meeting point for rock stars who either lived in L.A. or just visited the town. „If you wanted to join the club, you just had to drink all other members under the table", says Alice Cooper, founding member of the Vampires. Three years ago, Alice and his good friend Johnny Depp came together and decided to bring the spirit of the "Hollywood Vampires" back to life - only without drinking. Alice and Johnny received support from Joe Perry who's had a friendship with both of them since years, and recordings started. Alice, Joe and Johnny were joined by producer Bob Ezrin and an incredible crew: Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger recorded titles of their old friends and heroes. Moreover, the album contains two own songs telling the story of the Vampires. One of them, „Raise The Dead“, features an intro Sir Christopher Lee had recorded shortly before his death.
