"Made In Japan" hører til de mest ikoniske rock-livealbums nogensinde. Det blev spontant indspillet over tre nætter i Osaka og Tokyo i august 1972. Den såkaldte Mark II-besætning af Deep Purple leverede utrolige, højenergiske optrædener af banebrydende sange som »Smoke On The Water«, »Highway Star«, »Child In Time« og »Space Truckin'«. Syv numre blev oprindeligt udvalgt til dobbeltalbummet.

For at fejre det (forsinkede) 50-års jubilæum for »Made In Japan« har Steven Wilson sat sig ned for at lave et helt nyt remix af originalalbummet i stereo samt i Dolby Atmos. Derudover vil bokssættet indeholde de komplette sæt fra alle tre nætter, som alle er blevet ny-mixet af Richard Digby Smith.

5CD+Blu-ray-Audio-boksen indeholder Steven Wilsons Dolby Atmos-mix samt en 40-siders bog, en tourbog og en plakat. Mastering af Andy Pearce.
