Since its founding in 2004, ALTER BRIDGE has consistently been one of the leading hard rock bands in the world. Timeless melodies, outstanding guitar riffs, and constantly current lyrics have made the US Americans one of the most successful bands of the last two decades. Their seventh studio album, Pawns & Kings, seamlessly continues this trend with 10 powerful songs. In collaboration with longtime producer and collaborator Michael 'Elvis' Baskette, the album became a massive, impressive and arena-made production, serving as another musical highlight from the experienced and harmonious Kennedy/Tremonti dream team. On Pawns & Kings, ALTER BRIDGE delivers three epic anthems, two of which have a runtime of over six minutes: the thoughtful and absolutely epic title track 'Pawns & Kings', the dark-riffed, progressively influenced 'Sin After Sin', and the emotional eight-and-a-half-minute 'Fable Of The Silent Son'. 'Silver Tongue' is introduced by a gripping riff that transitions into one of the most captivating choruses in the band's history - Myles Kennedy sings: 'Truth of a crime. You can’t outrun. Under the spell of my silver tongue'. Tracks like 'Holiday' and 'Season Of Promise', on the other hand, are classic, multifaceted and metallized ALTER BRIDGE rock revelations that have enchanted fans for a generation. Songs like the opening track 'This Is War', 'Dead Among The Living', and 'Last Man Standing' emphasize the harder side of a band that presents itself at its peak throughout the entire playing time. In the uplifting 'Stay', lead guitarist Mark Tremonti takes on lead vocals - a lineup that was first heard on the fourth album, Fortress (2013), and has since showcased the versatility of the band and its individual musicians.
