Glam, punk, heavy metal, blues, and rock 'n' roll - these were the ingredients from which they got their inspiration, when VARDIS was founded in Northern England in the 70's. VARDIS could look back to three generations of rock music: inspired by the great rock and blues artists of the 50's and 60's, they developed their own style side by side with the emerging metal and punk acts of the 70's and 80's as a part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Their tough and angry sound influenced thrash and speed metal on either side of the Atlantic ocean directly, as metal legends like Metallica and Megadeth have said. The melodic, boogie-oriented side of their early influences always in mind, VARDIS' hard rock has a unique heavy groove, which has become a style of its own over time.
