180g vinyl/Gatefold/insert. DEPECHE MODE's recordings of their eighth studio album "Songs of Faith & Devotion" (1993) were inspired by the upcoming alternative rock and grunge movement which dominated the music universe in the early 90s.
The album's opening song "I Feel You" surprises with blurred guitar sounds and heavy live drums, turning away from the omnipresent synth pop, which had ever since been characteristic for DEPECHE MODE as the English champions of the best of electronic music.
The album was number one in the album charts in 17 countries and the first DEPECHE MODE creation to be number one in the UK charts.
The band went on a 14 month promotion tour for "Songs of Faith & Devotion" and sold more than 7 million albums.
