On their fifth album "The Search Goes On" the Swedish trio 'Kamchatka' presents itself in a much more mature, independent and clearly more musical way. They placed value on great melodic arches, without subverting the rocking seventies spirit. Great retro rock album.
KAMCHATKA have been influenced by different genres and artists, among them blues, prog rock, stoner rock, jazz as well as DEVO, ALI FARKA, TOURÉ, CACTUS, KING CRIMSON, KYUSS, SARAH VAUGHAN and CHET BAKER.
Thomas Andersson's guitar leans mainly onto riffs and is oriented towards, as many say, JIMI HENDRIX and ROBIN TROWER, which has often bestowed KAMCHATKA with the comparison to the hard blues rock bands of the late sixties and early seventies like THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, LED ZEPPELIN and CREAM.
The band has been described a hard rock, stoner rock, jam band, power trio and blues rock.
