"The Story" - In this version the 14th and last studio album by the Scottish folk rock band Runrig is released as limited premium edition in an ecolbook with a 32-paged booklet.

After 8 years 'Runrig' are back with new energy for their latest studio album. "The Story" will be released on 29th January 2016 and is the 14th studio album, the band has been working on it for more than a year. This will be the final chapter of the glorious story of Runrig. As always the songs are created by the brothers Rory and Calum Macdonald, who had founded the band in 1973. In these 10 brand new songs they reflect on all they the things they care about and what made Runrig into something special - their affection for the Highlands with all their myths and natural beauties, the Gaelic language and culture, as well as human destinies between passion and war. In spite of the nostalgia the album has been produced in a modern and contemporary way. The decision to let the youngest band member, keyboard player Brian Hurren, produce the album, definitely was the right move. With their in advance released title song "The Story" Runrig present their typical euphoric melodies in an impressive manner. The Gaelic and English song, in which Rory Macdonald does the vocals (instead of lead singer Bruce Guthro) is an anthem to their homeland, that will make the hearts of their fans swell.
